Landscape Architect
Mike grew up in Indiana and first came to West Virginia during a high school backpacking trip to the Seneca Creek Backcountry with his environmental science class and fell in love with the state. Eventually Mike moved here with his wife in 2005 to start a family on their small 28-acre “Holler Homestead” in Core, WV. Over the last 20 years he has remodeled their historic 1886 home and made many homestead improvements.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry from Purdue University. As well as a Master of Arts degree from Ball State University in landscape architecture. Upon moving to West Virginia, he taught as an adjunct professor at WVU. Mike now works part time for WVLT designing and developing the organization’s public preserve parking lots, roads, and trails. He also custom design/builds site elements such as welcome kiosks and other signage.
