Greater Charleston Greenway Project
What is a greenway?
Greenways are corridors of protected public and private land, linked together to form corridors that serve to connect neighborhoods and communities. They often connect points of interest such as parks, cultural sites, schools, and shopping centers, creating a network of pathways for people commuting by foot or bicycle. Greenways can help deal with growth in a way that protects community identity while stimulating the economy and safeguarding quality of life!    The West Virginia Land Trust, together with all members of the Greater Charleston Greenway Steering Committee, invites you to help provide direction on how to best develop a greenway for the greater Charleston area. A group process will help ensure we create a realistic strategy that brings public and private support to implementing and managing the greenway over time.
Thanks to Dow Chemical Company, the State of West Virginia, The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, the City of Charleston, supporters of the WV Land Trust, and all of our wonderful steering committee partners for your contributions to this project!
