The sixth annual Special Places award event took place on February 4, 2010 at the Woman's Club of Charleston. Over 170 people were in attendance to honor Dean Joyce McConnell as the 2010 Special Places Award winner. Dean McConnell was joined by her husband, Vince Trivelli, recent alumns of the WVU College of Law, past and present board members of the WVLT, easement donors, and other colleagues and friends in celebration of her accomplishment.
Dean McConnell was honored for her committment to land conservation in West Virginia. She has been a past president and board member of the WVLT and negotiated many of the easements the organization currently holds. She has also been an advocate for land conservation and land use planning at the local, state, and national levels.
